
Flying to New Orleans
New Orleans is served by Louis Armstrong International Airport, which is approximately 15 miles west of downtown. Several major domestic airlines offer direct service to New Orleans, including American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United, Southwest and AirTran. Transportation from Louis Armstrong International Airport to downtown New Orleans is readily available. For both options, just follow the airport's signs to ground transportation.
Taxi
Taxi fares are currently $28 for one or two people, or $12 each for
three or more people (maximum five). A $1 fuel charge will be added to
the fare. Allow at least one hour to travel between the airport and
downtown.

Airport Shuttle
Shuttle service runs every 10-15 minutes from the baggage claim area
and will drop passengers off at their hotels for $13 per person.
Wheelchair accessible vans are available. Reservations are required for
the return trip to the airport and can be made by the hotel concierge
or by calling the shuttle service directly, usually 24 hours in
advance, or 48 hours in advance for wheelchair accessible vans.

Limousine
Walk-up limousine and sedan car service to the French Quarter is
available for $35 for one or two people and $10 per additional
passenger, up to 8 passengers. Information desks are located on the
lower level baggage claim areas at Louis Armstrong International
Airport.
Train
Amtrak has three train routes that serve New Orleans: the City of New Orleans (Chicago-Memphis-New Orleans), the Crescent (New York-Washington D.C.-Atlanta-New Orleans), and the Sunset Limited (Orlando-New Orleans-Houston-Los Angeles).
Bus
Greyhound offers long-distance bus service to New Orleans from many cities across the country.
All trains and buses arrive at New Orleans' Union Passenger Terminal located at 1001 Loyola Avenue, on the edge of the central business district and adjacent to Interstate 10.
New Orleans is easily accessible by car, as Interstate 10 runs directly through the city from east to west. Parking downtown and in the French Quarter, however, is very limited and expensive. Few venues have parking available, and most street parking is by residential permit only. If you choose to drive to Phoenix Rising, please take parking costs into account. It costs $24.99 + tax per day to park at the Sheraton New Orleans.
Directions from Louis Armstrong Airport to the Sheraton New Orleans
- From the airport, follow signs that lead to Interstate 10 East
- Once on I-10 East, follow signs leading to the New Orleans Business District
- Continue to follow Business District signs until one that says Interstate 10 East to Slidell
- Follow that sign to exit 234-B (on left), which is Poydras Street.
- Follow Poydras to Camp Street and turn left on Camp.
- Follow Camp to Canal Street and turn right on Canal.
- The Sheraton is on the right.
East Approach to City (travelers from Houston, Texas and points west)
- Follow Interstate 10 East from Slidell into New Orleans.
- Exit at 234-B, which is Poydras Street and the Superdome.
- Follow Poydras to Camp Street and turn left on Camp.
- Follow Camp to Canal Street and turn right on Canal.
- The Sheraton is on the right.
West Approach to City (travelers from Mobile, Alabama and points east)
- Follow Interstate 10 West.
- Exit at 235-B, which is Canal Street.
- Turn right on Canal.
- The Sheraton is on the right, after you cross Camp Street.
North Approach to City (travelers from St. Louis, Missouri and other points north)
- Follow Interstate 55 South to La Place, Louisiana.
- Connect with Interstate 10 East.
- The follow the directions above for the East Approach to the City.
